Baker Hughes U.S. Rig Count Down, Canada Up Again

The Baker Hughes rig count, issued Feb. 22, reported the U.S. rig count to be down two rigs from last week. The total number of U.S. rigs for Baker Hughes is 1,771, which is up 17 compared to the same period last year.

Baker Hughes' Canadian rig count continues its climb with an additional 15 rigs compared to last week, which raises the Baker Hughes Canadian rig count to 647. The Canadian rig count is up 44 over last year.

For the number of international rigs, Baker Hughes reported that 17 rigs have been added since last week, bringing the total of international rigs to 1,053. This increases the number of international rigs by 81 compared to January 2007.
