Total Reduces Accidents by 20% in 2007

Total S.A. has spent the past six years working to improve its safety measures. The company's efforts have not been in vain as Total reports a 20% accident reduction.

"Safety is a priority," Christophe de Margerie, Total's CEO, said. "In the framework of its policy to protect the environment, Total intensified its efforts in the fight against global climate change by launching a pilot program to test promising new technology for the capture and sequestration of CO2 at our Lacq field in France."
