Norson Power has been awarded a major contract by KCA DEUTAG Technical Support.
Potentially worth in excess of UK1 million, the contract will see Norson provide the global drilling contractor with hose, fittings, connectors and other hydraulic accessories for a period of three years. There are two one year options to extend the contract.
Aberdeen-based Norson Power, one of the most recognized names in hydraulics, recently reported an increase in turnover from UK7 million in 2006 to almost UK10 million. A significant part of this is driven by the hose and fluid connector business.
Andy Tully, distribution director at Norson Power said: "KCA DEUTAG are significant users of Parker Hannifin equipment and our official distributor status with Parker Hannifin was, alongside our extensive product range, a major factor in winning this work.
"Our hose and fluid connector division integrates well with the companies long established hydraulic product sales and is rapidly growing, driven by our ability and capacity to deliver the simplest fluid connector to the most complex hydraulic system to meet the increasing global demand, particularly in oil and gas markets."
Norson Power is an officially accredited distributor of world-renowned Parker Hannifin products and launched the first Parker Store in Aberdeen in 2007. The company was ranked number two in Parker's Certified Fluid Connectors European distribution league.
Focusing on the design and construction of hydraulic systems, system and component maintenance and the supply of hydraulic parts, Norson has a highly skilled workforce operating in the North Sea, the Caspian and West Africa as well as outwith the oil and gas industry in sectors such as defense, utilities and transport.
