Oilex Awards Wavefield Inseis Seismic Work

RigzoneOilex and its joint venture partners in the JPDA 06-103 block recently awarded 3D seismic work to Wavefield Inseis. Located in the Flamingo Basin between East Timor and Australia, the area to be surveyed spans 1,657 square kilometers.
The work will be conducted by the vessel Geowave Champion and should commence the in the first quarter of 2008.
All seismic work will be complete by the middle of 2008, and the JV plans to drill two wells by the fourth quarter of 2008. It is currently looking for available rigs.
Oilex serves as operator of the joint venture with 25% interest. Partners in the project are Gujarat State Petroleum, Videocon Industries and Bharat Petroleum, all with 25%.
