ChevronTexaco has commenced production from the Caledonia Field located in the U.K. sector of the North Sea. During its first year of operation the field is expected to production 10,000 barrels per day. The company said the field, which should achieve peak production of 13,000 bpd soon after start-up, was developed via a subsea template with a single production well tied back to the Britannia platform. The project cost $60.3 million. Caledonia oil will flow into the Forties Pipeline System.
