Saucier to Supervise MMS District Operations in Gulf of Mexico
Minerals Management Service (MMS) Gulf of Mexico Region Director Lars Herbst has selected Mike Saucier as the new Deputy Regional Supervisor for District Operations in the Office of Field Operations for the Gulf of Mexico Region.
"Mike Saucier brings a wealth of technical expertise and knowledge to this position. His years of experience managing the Houma District Office were a key factor in our decision to select him for this important position," said Herbst.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from Louisiana State University, Saucier began his career with the MMS in1984 as a staff engineer in the MMS's Houma, La. District where he worked on production and drilling issues. In 1988, he became the Drilling Engineer and in 1995, he was promoted to the position of District Supervisor, Houma District in the Gulf of Mexico.
As Deputy Regional Supervisor for District Operations, Saucier oversees work in the region's district offices which are located in New Orleans, Houma, Lafayette, Lake Charles, Louisiana and in Lake Jackson, Texas. Inspectors in the district offices are responsible for onsite inspections of offshore oil and gas facilities and infrastructure to ensure operations throughout the Gulf of Mexico Region are conducted in a safe and environmentally sound manner.
