Rocksource Prequalified as NCS Operator
Norway's Ministry of Oil and Energy has pre-qualified Rocksource as an operator on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS). This pre-qualification is recognition of the fact that we have built a highly competent organisation across all major functional areas that enables further growth of the company.
Norwegian authorities have established a thorough process for pre-qualifying companies as licensees and as operators. This requires all E&P companies on the NCS to satisfy a range of requirements and demonstrate their ability and capacity to contribute with value creation in the upstream sector. Further details of the pre-qualification process can be found on the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate web-site (www.npd.no).
Rocksource was established in 2004 and qualified as a licensee in Norway, in 2006. The company over the last year has expanded significantly in terms of organisation, production and exploration licences. With continued production successes onshore US, the development of our exploration portfolio and the continued expansion of our capability in electromagnetic (EM) exploration technology we are actively seeking new growth opportunities in Norway and internationally.
