Baker Energy to Operate Black Bay Field

Baker Energy has been awarded a contract from The William G. Helis Company L.L.C., to operate and maintain its oil and gas production properties in the Black Bay Field off the east coast of Louisiana.

Under this agreement, Baker will provide more than 40 skilled personnel to operate and maintain eight production facilities and two living quarters/warehouse platforms. Including Helis, Baker is now operating more than 320 manned and unmanned facilities in the Gulf of Mexico, and 57 fields located in the inland waters.

"We are pleased to have been selected for this challenging inland waters assignment," Dick Giffhorn, president of Baker Energy, said. "Not only does this group of facilities provide operational challenges, but it also enables us to apply our environmental and compliance expertise to this extremely sensitive area."
