HB Rentals Meets Short Deadline for North Sea & West African Projects
CNR called-in HB Rentals to convert a vacant 20ft x 8ft container into a bespoke engineering workshop complete with workbench and vice, storage and shelving, to meet a tight deadline for shipping to its site off the Cote d'Ivoire.
HB Rentals' manufacturing and modifications team installed vital smoke detectors, air conditioning and emergency lighting to ensure high safety standards for workers utilising the space.
Regional business development manager Mark Slater said the build-for-sale project showed HB Rentals' capability to transform offshore cabins of any type into safe, expertly-fitted workspaces.
"It was crucial for CNR that the module could be completely outfitted as an engineering workshop with high standard safety features in a short space of time to meet their shipping date," he said.
"Our own cabins are fully customisable and our outfitting team's skills are easily transferred to allow us to meet the internal layout and equipment requirements of units we have not manufactured ourselves.
"We have several customers already using this service and we are expecting ongoing growth in custom refit orders - where operators and contractors have existing accommodation which needs to be updated to meet the latest safety requirements and feature the best in technology."
Meanwhile, HB Rentals supplied a 12ft x 8ft zone 1 office module fitted with pressurisation, fire and gas monitoring systems, to the Glomar Labrador 1 platform in the North Sea for Pathfinder in less than one week.
The firm was the only supplier capable of mobilising a fully-configured small-footprint unit in the short lead time given by Pathfinder, which already rents five HB Rentals units in the UKCS, including maintenance support.
HB Rentals, a Superior Energy Services Company, is the world's largest unique supplier of temporary on and offshore accommodation modules, operating from three major global hubs in Broussard, Louisiana, US; Aberdeen, Scotland and Singapore.
The global specialist includes the European, American, South East Asian and Australasian operations of the former Duffy and McGovern Accommodation Services, which it acquired in January 2007.
