Production Resumes at Gullfaks A

Statoil has resumed production at Gullfaks A and its satellite fields early on Thursday after a repair outage that began on Saturday. Statoil spokesman Kristofer Hetland said the fields came back onstream at 0030 GMT on Thursday. "Everything is going well and all the wells are now producing." He declined to estimate the production lost. "All we have said is that daily production is 130,000 to 140,000 barrels per day." Gullfaks A and its satellite fields were closed after a routine inspection revealed a crack in welding on the flare system.
