Noble Says Drillship Noble Roger Eason Stable

Noble Corporation said that a fire that occurred aboard its drillship the Noble Roger Eason has been successfully extinguished and the drillship is stable. The drillship, which is currently working for Petrobras offshore Brazil, is located in the Campos basin off Rio de Janeiro state, approximately 120 kilometers from shore. The incident occurred at approximately 10:40 p.m. local time (6:40 CST p.m.) on November 28. Emergency measures were initiated immediately and a team is currently onboard the unit assessing damage.

Preliminary reports from senior Noble personnel aboard the drillship are that six people sustained injuries, none of which are life threatening.
