Last Thursday the Coast Guard responded to a downed helicopter in Breton Sound near Venice, Louisiana in the Gulf of Mexico. The Texas Air A-Star 350 helicopter reportedly went down at around 3:30 p.m. There were five people onboard the helicopter at the time of the incident, no was killed. One person was transported to West Jefferson hospital for minor injuries. Boaters on a fishing vessel, the "Hey Dude," who witnessed the crash, notified the Coast Guard and then pulled the victims from the water. According to a Coast Guard spokesman officials say the passengers had been picked up earlier from an oil platform in the Gulf.
There is no word on what caused the crash.
