Gulfsands Petroleum recently started 3D seismic programs over the Khurbet East Field in Block 26. Covering about 160 square kilometers, the data should assist the company in its exploration of the Khurbet East Field by defining its limits, establishing well locations and providing more information on leads adjacent to the field.

Gulfsands is also acquiring 3D seismic data on an additional 240 square kilometers south of the Khurbet East field. The company plans to evaluate this data and identify exploration leads for "drill ready" targets within the area.

The seismic programs should be complete by January 2008, and interpretation of the data will follow in the first half of the year.

Gulfsands serves as operator and holds 50% interest in Block 26 in North East Syria. The block includes 8,250 square kilometers, and Gulfsands has already made an oil and gas discovery on the blocked, called Khurbet East.
