Eni Gets Nod to Drill Exploration Well in PL 122

The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate has granted ENI Norge AS a drilling permit for exploration well 6507/2-4 located in the Norwegian Sea in production license 122.

The well is located in an area of the production license which almost 10 kilometers west of the Alve field.

Production license 122 was awarded in licensing round 10B in 1986. This is the fourth exploration well to be drilled in this production license. The West Alpha is scheduled to drill the well after in complete work at the Kristin Field.

The drilling permit is granted on the condition that all other permits and consents required by other authorities have been secured before the drilling activity commences.

ENI is the operator with an ownership interest of 20 percent. Other licensees are Dong with an ownership interest of 30 percent and Statoil with 50 percent.
