3TEC Makes Shallow Water Gas Discovery

3TEC has made a natural gas discovery at the Company's Chandeleur Sound Block 67 lease in St. Bernard Parish, Louisiana, approximately two miles southeast of the S/L 17122 #1. The well, S/L 17407 #1, tested 8 Mmcfe per day on December 13 from the Tex W formation at 9,176' and is currently being connected to the central production facility. The Company expects that the S/L 17407 #1 will begin production in late December.
