The final well in an extended delineation program at the Medusa Prospect in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico encountered three reservoirs totaling over 250 feet of net oil pay. The well was drilled by Diamond Offhsore's semisubmersible, Ocean Concord in approximately 2,100 feet of water to a total depth of 14,400 feet . Two of the three reservoirs had not been previously encountered, and both of them met or exceeded pre-drill expectations. Murphy Oil Corporation is the operator and owns a 60 percent working interest, Callon Petroleum owns a 15 percent working interest and Bitish Borneo Petroluem owns the other 25 percent.
