Production Halted at BP's Forties Alpha Platform

A gas pipeline on the Forties Alpha platform ruptured at the end of November, causing gas to be released. Production has been halted at the platform however, it is expected to restart soon. Repairs are underway. There were no injuries reported.

"In hindsight, our initial response that this was a small technical failure was not an accurate description of the incident, but was based on the information we had at the time," said a BP spokesman.
