BJ Services Names New Country Manager for The Netherlands
BJ Services has promoted Henri Niewold to the post of country manager – The Netherlands for the Well Services Division within the Europe and Africa Region. In his new role, Niewold manages all operations activities related to well services in The Netherlands, with emphasis on specialist services such as coiled tubing, stimulation and other pumping services. He is responsible for health, safety and environmental performance, financial performance, business development, operations and compliance requirements.
Prior to his promotion, Niewold served for two years as area business development manager for BJ Services. During this time, he carried out sales and marketing of all services and products on behalf of the Well Services division throughout Continental Europe.
Niewold joined BJ Services in 1996 when the company acquired his employer, Nowsco Well Services. Since then he worked for BJ as sales coordinator, progressing through several managerial roles, including the position of district operations manager for The Netherlands. He began his career in the oil industry in 1987, working in The Netherlands for Dow Chemical as a process operator before joining Nowsco in 1988 for eight years. Over time, he has worked on and offshore in a dozen countries throughout Europe and Africa.
With 20 years of experience in the oil industry, Niewold is based in Emmen and reports to Umberto Micheli, region manager – Europe & Africa of Well Services for BJ Services. A native of The Netherlands, Niewold, 43, is fluent in Dutch, English and German. He holds a Certificate in Engineering from M.T.S in Appingedam, The Netherlands and is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers and the Drilling Engineers Association.
