Woodside Abandons Kansas-1 Well

Woodside Petroleum reports that the Kansas-1 well has been plugged and abandoned. The well was drilled to a depth of 18,170 feet by Noble Drilling's semisub, Noble Amos Runner. The company said that further drilling will be required at some time in the future to fully evaluate the prospect. No details were provided on the well results.

As a result of this activity, Woodside has earned a 16.665% interest in 7 blocks covering the Kansas prospect. The blocks are AT445, AT446, AT488, AT489, AT490, AT491 and AT534. Kerr-McGee is the operator of the Kansas-1 well.
