The Immortelle-1 exploration well, offshore Carnarvon Basin, Western Australia, reached a total depth of 1,258 meters and will be plugged and abandoned. Elevated gas readings and oil shows were encountered over the Cretaceous target interval however, wireline log data indicates that only sub-commercial hydrocarbons are present. The deeper secondary objective was water bearing.
Participants in the Immortelle-1 well are Santos as operator with 43.711%; Apache with 39.658%; ExxonMobil with 12.474% and Pan Pacific Petroleum with the remaining 4.157%.
