The Rhodes Petroleum Industry Leadership Award, named for former ASME International president and petroleum division chair, Allen R. Rhodes, was established by the Petroleum Division of the ASME as an award for significant contribution to the petroleum industry demonstrated through management and motivational skills, entrepreneurship, innovative methods and outstanding leadership within the corporate structure and in the industry as a whole. Mr. Kinnear joins a select group of past recipients of the Rhodes Petroleum Industry Leadership Award, including Mr. Mike R. Bowlin, former Chairman of the Atlantic Richfield Company and current member of FMC Technologies' Board of Directors.
"Our company has experienced exceptional growth and success in the development of subsea technology due to our unique and talented employees and their ability to foster long-term relationships with our valued customers," commented Mr. Kinnear. "I am honored to receive this award on behalf of our employees."
Charles C. Burton, Chairman of the Petroleum Division Executive Committee, added, "Take a look at how FMC Technologies has evolved under Peter's direction and it will come as no surprise that he has earned this prestigious award. In addition, a number of us on the Executive Committee have known and worked with Peter since the early days of subsea development, and have admired his leadership, fairness and integrity. We believe these have been key to FMC's subsea successes."
