Eni to Use the West Alpha to Drill Well 6507/2-4

Eni Norge AS has secured consent from the Petroleum Safety Authority Norway to drill exploration well 6507/2-4 using the West Alpha semisub. The well is located in the Norwegian Sea and is part of production license 122 which is operated by Eni, with DONG Norge AS and Statoil ASA as the other licensees.

The plan calls for drilling to commence in September 2007 and last for approximately 45-60 days.

The West Alpha is operated by Seadrill and received an Acknowledgement of Compliance (AoC) in December 2001.
