BJ PPS Announces Appointments in Middle East & Asia Pacific Region

BJ Process and Pipeline Services has appointed Andrew Manning as area manager – Middle East. With over 15 years experience in the oil and gas industry, Andrew is responsible for overseeing all the division’s process and pipeline operations carried out by the 250 employees in the Middle East.

Originally from Great Yarmouth, England, Andrew has worked several operational and management roles in the international process and pipeline industry. Andrew, 33, joined BJ PPS in 1999 as sales manager for the Far East region based in Singapore. He then worked for an independent pipeline services provider as Regional Business Development Manager in the Asia Pacific region for 1 year before returning to BJ to take on his new responsibilities in the Middle East. Andrew is based at the BJ PPS region headquarters in Dubai.

Aboulkhair El-Arnous, 44, has been appointed operations manager – Abu Dhabi. He manages all BJ PPS operations onshore and offshore Abu Dhabi. In keeping with BJ’s commitment to building strong delivery teams comprised of local staff. Arnous is making a special effort to train and employ local residents. Previously, he served as operations manager in Saudi Arabia for BJ PPS and as district engineer with the Well Services division in Saudi Arabia.

Throughout his 17-year career in the petroleum industry, Arnous has worked extensively throughout the Middle East. He worked for a major service company as country manager - well services in Syria, and as an engineer for a major operator in Kuwait. A native of Syria, Arnous is a graduate of University of Texas and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering. He is based in Abu Dhabi.

Both Manning and Arnous report to Carl Mook, Middle East-Asia Pacific region manager for BJ PPS.

In addition, Daniel Fehnert, 33, has been appointed to the position of region engineer for the Middle East-Asia Pacific region. In his new role, he is tasked with leading the technical advancement of all BJ PPS services through the region. He is also responsible for developing and mentoring existing qualified engineers who are working in the region. To achieve this, he is overseeing all engineering assignments and acts as the primary conduit between the regions regarding engineering training initiatives and developments.

Before becoming region engineer – Middle East for BJ PPS, Fehnert worked as commissioning engineer for the division on the BP Shah Deniz Project in Azerbaijan. Throughout the operation, he was responsible for managing the project and analysing the client’s engineering requirements. The operation involved creating innovative engineering solutions, including the sequencing and re-using of pipeline contents as a conditioning medium for the remaining pipelines within the network. Fehnert launched his career in the pipeline and process industry in 1992 when he joined McKenna & Sullivan. Following the purchase of McKenna & Sullivan by BJ Services, he went on to work for Nowsco until it was acquired by BJ in 1996. Since then, Fehnert has held a number of management positions with BJ PPS.

Fehnert is from Northampton, England and holds a BEng Degree in Marine Technology (Hons) and Offshore Engineering (First Class) from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. He is based at the BJ PPS region headquarters in Dubai and reports to John Grover, regional business development manager for the Middle East-Asia Pacific region.
