Baker Energy Wins $23 Million Contract from Double Eagle
Baker Energy, a unit of Michael Baker Corporation, has been awarded a contract from Double Eagle Petroleum for a $23 million project to provide facility engineering and design and overall management of the 2007 drilling and completion program in south central Wyoming.
Under the contract, Baker Energy will provide project, construction, and supply chain management; facilities and gathering system engineering and design; and start-up and commissioning of the gas field and production facilities. The program includes 33 gas wells, three disposal wells, natural gas and water gathering systems, and a central disposal and treatment facility for produced water.
"We chose Baker because of its reputation as the leading contractor in the Powder River Basin for coal bed natural gas development. We have every confidence that the team will deliver on our expectations to complete this phase of our development program in our Atlantic Rim, Cow Creek Field, Catalina Unit by February 2008 when production from the new wells is scheduled to begin at this location," said Stephen H. Hollis, president and chief executive officer, Double Eagle Petroleum.
"The Double Eagle Cow Creek project is an important geographic expansion for Baker beyond our operations in the Powder River Basin. We are very excited about being selected by Double Eagle to expand its largest producing asset in the high visibility, high potential Atlantic Rim area," said Dennis Higgins, Rocky Mountains operations manager, Baker Energy.
