Buccaneer Resources Names Idstein as CFO
Buccaneer Resources, a domestic oil and gas capital investment company, has hired Hugh Idstein as chief financial officer.
Mr. Idstein is a senior financial executive with more than 20 years of experience in the financial management of oil and gas companies. Mr. Idstein recently completed his contract with Dune Energy Inc., a Houston-based oil and gas exploration and development company, where he successfully directed all accounting and financial functions for the fast-growing company and led a due diligence team in the evaluation of the $70 million Barnett Shale acquisition. Mr. Idstein has also served as CFO of Houston-based Black Stone Minerals Company, L.P. He earned an M.B.A. and a B.S. in energy management from Eastern Illinois University.
"Hugh brings a unique combination of skill sets beyond that of the typical CFO," said Ken Hooper, Chief Operating Officer. "His industry dealings add significantly to Buccaneer's ability to craft commercially viable structures among multiple resource partners."
"I see tremendous growth areas for Buccaneer," Mr. Idstein commented, "and I am eager to apply my knowledge of the financials of oil and gas E&P and acquisitions to Buccaneer's team."
