CorrOcean to Provide Integrated Corrosion Monitoring System to Sinopec

CorrOcean through its Italian subsidiary, CorrOcean Srl., has signed a very large contract with China Petrochemical Corporation (Sinopec) for an integrated corrosion monitoring system for a large gas field.

The contract has firmly established CorrOcean as a supplier in the growing Chinese market for corrosion monitoring and other topside equipment and complements earlier Subsea contracts in China.

The large integrated system combines traditional intrusive sensors with the unique CorrOcean non intrusive FSM systems to give the customer a very comprehensive monitoring system that will ensure asset protection throughout the lifetime of the processing equipment.

The equipment for this contract will be produced in Norway and Italy and the equipment will be installed and tested by engineers both from Norway and Italy. Delivery on this USD 6.5 million (NOK 40 million) project is planned Q1 2008.

With this contract CorrOcean should be well placed to compete for coming similar phases of the total project.
