ONGC-Mittal Energy Gets Gas Block in Trinidad & Tobago



BANGALORE, (Dow Jones Newswires), Aug 13, 2007

ONGC-Mittal Energy Ltd. has received the gas exploration rights for a block in Trinidad and Tobago that is estimated to have reserves of 2 trillion cubic feet, the Business Standard reported Monday, citing unnamed industry sources.

ONGC-Mittal Energy is a joint venture between India's state-run Oil and Natural Gas Corp. (500312.BY) and Mittal Investments, the investment arm of Arcelor Mittal (MT).

The company won the offshore block NCMA-2, beating the U.K.'s Centrica Plc (CNA.LN), the report said.
