Dril-Quip 2Q 2007 Net Income up from 2Q 2006



Dril-Quip reported a net income of $24.1 million, or $0.59 per diluted share for the three months ended June 30, 2007, versus net income of $21.3 million, or $0.53 per diluted share for the second quarter of 2006. Total revenues increased approximately 6% to $114.7 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 from $108.5 million for the same period in 2006 as the Company continued to experience strong worldwide demand for its products and services. Operating income increased to $32.9 million in the second quarter of 2007 from $30.6 million in the second quarter of 2006.

For the six months ended June 30, 2007, net income was $48.2 million, or $1.18 per diluted share, compared with net income of $38.6 million, or $0.96 per diluted share, for the same period in 2006. Revenues for the six months ended June 30, 2007 were $232.4 million, up approximately 12% when compared to revenues of $206.7 million for the same period last year. Operating income increased to $65.6 million for the six months ended June 30, 2007 from $55.5 million during the same period of 2006.

All share and earnings per share data contained in this press release have been restated to reflect the increased number of common shares outstanding resulting from the Company's two-for-one stock split, accomplished through a stock dividend, on October 5, 2006 to stockholders of record as of September 21, 2006.

In addition, the Company announced that its backlog at June 30, 2007 was approximately $394 million, compared to its June 30, 2006 backlog of approximately $290 million. The Company expects its earnings per share for the quarter ending September 30, 2007 to approximate $0.55 to $0.65 per share, excluding any unusual or special charges.
