Kvaerner Awarded Conger Subsea Contract

Kvaerner Oilfield Products has been selected to provide a 10,000-foot steel tube umbilical for Amerada Hess Garden Banks 215 Conger extension well #6, in water depths of between 1,260 to 1,450 feet. The infield umbilical includes super duplex steel tubing and electric cables with operating pressure capacity of up to 15,000 psi. Installation is planned for an offset distance of approximately 10,000 feet.

"Kvaerner Oilfield Products is pleased to support additional exploration and production activities for Amerada Hess," said Rick Hill, senior vice president, sales and marketing at KOP. "We delivered a subsea tree and production controls earlier this month for Garden Banks 201 and plan to manufacture and deliver this umbilical system for Block 215 mid-year 2003."

This umbilical will be manufactured in KOP's new industrial complex in Mobile, Alabama, which is currently under construction and scheduled to be in production in the second quarter 2003.
