Correa Appoints Chiriboga to Head New Mines, Oil Ministry

Ecuador's President Rafael Correa has appointed Galo Chiriboga to head the new mines and oil ministry, the presidential website reported.

The government divided the energy and mines ministry into the mines and oil ministry and the electricity and renewables energy ministry to "recover the country's resources," Correa said.

Earlier this month, Correa appointed Alecksey Mosquera Rodriguez to head the electricity and renewables energy ministry.
