Newfield Exploration to Use Landmark Graphics Software
Newfield Explortion has signed a multiyear technology agreement with Landmark Graphics Corporation to adopt Landmark's current suite of geological and geophysical software products and support services. The agreement also calls for Landmark to work with Newfield on improving their data analysis and data integration capabilities.
"In today's world, it's becoming increasingly more difficult to find hydrocarbons. Many of our producing basins are very mature and we need continued improvements in technology to find new prospects," said Elliott Pew, Newfield's vice president of Exploration. "Our use of Landmark products and services gives us an edge and are valuable tools for our geoscientists throughout the company."
Landmark's exploration technology is now fully accessible to Newfield's geoscience team based in Houston, London, Perth and Tulsa. Newfield's Houston and Tulsa offices are supported by full-time Landmark onsite technical consultants. Landmark is working closely with Newfield's asset teams to accelerate and optimize their uptake of the technology through customized training programs, one-on-one mentoring and seminars.
"We are excited about working more closely with Newfield in providing their explorationists with greater technology access and assisting them in workflow optimization," said Andy Lane, Landmark president and CEO. "This agreement will enable Newfield's staff to adopt Landmark software and services technology at a faster pace while maintaining its competitive advantage in oil and gas exploration and production."
