Carigali Triton Has Completed Cakerawala Gas Facilities

Carigali-Triton Operating Company has completed the construction and installation of the Cakerawala gas field facilities in the Malaysia-Thailand offshore joint development area in Block A-18. The facilities are already capable of delivering 214.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day, and delivery capacity will increase to 429 million SCF of gas per day by December, 2002.

This is in accordance with the Gas Sales Agreement signed in 1999 between the sellers of the JDA gas and the buyers. The sellers are the Malaysia-Thai Joint Authority (MTJA), Petronas Carigali (JDA) Sdn Bhd (PCJDASB) and Triton Oil Company of Thailand (TOCT) and the buyers, namely Petronas and PTT Public Company Ltd.

The Cakerawala facilities include a processing platform, three well-head platforms and a floating storage and offloading facility for oil and condensate. PCJDASB and TOCT, have so far invested more than US$900 million in developing the facilities. PCJDASB is a wholly owned subsidiary of Petronas, while TOCT is jointly owned by Amerada Hess and BP.
