The survey consists of more than 13,000 square kilometers and should commence in late June 2007 and is expected to be completed by the end of December, depending upon weather and sea conditions.
The survey will include bathymetric data collection and processing in Troms II and Nordland VII in Lofoten and Vesteralen area, Norway.
The Mareano project, financed by the Norwegian government, is a national program to map the seabed in the Norwegian waters out to the continental shelf. Having begun in 2005 and expecting to finish in 2010, the total area of the project is approximately 142,000 square kilometers and will include mapping of bathymetry, geology, biology and contaminants. Fugro OSAE conducted a portion of this survey in 2006 as well.
