Ujung Pangkah field in East Java, developed by PSC Contractor Hess, resumed operation and production of gas and condensate on June 18 at 11 a.m. after a temporary shutdown, Public Relations Head Amir Hamzah said in Jakarta on Monday.

"After having a temporary shutdown, production in Hess' Ujung Pangkah field returned to normal at 11 a.m. yesterday," Amir Hamzah said.

Gas output was at 17 mmscfd and condensate was at 114 bpd. Production is expected to rise to 42 mmscfd.

"The investigation team is still looking into the cause of the fire, but we know for sure that the damage was not extensive and it occurred only at the rig, not at the production platform," Amir Hamzah added.
