ConocoPhillips Increases Production from Rang Dong Field

ConocoPhillips announced that the Rang Dong Field, Vietnam Block 15-2, achieved first oil from two new wellhead platforms. These additional platforms have boosted production from the field by 40 percent. Gross production is now averaging 65,000 barrels of oil per day, the design capacity of the facilities.

ConocoPhillips holds a working interest of 36 percent in Block 15-2. Other partners are Japan Vietnam Petroleum Co Ltd (46.5 percent, operator) and PetroVietnam.

ConocoPhillips owns interests in six blocks offshore Vietnam, with a total acreage position of nearly 6 million gross acres. This acreage is currently the largest acreage position of any foreign energy company in Vietnam. The company's portfolio includes offshore acreage in Blocks 15-1, 15-2, 16-2, 5-3, 133 and 134, as well as an interest in the Nam Con Son gas pipeline.
