PGS Selected to Shoot 3D Survey in Gulf of Mexico
The Exploration NSA Division of PGS Geophysical has been awarded a contract from ChevronTexaco for a 3D seismic program, including an undershoot of the Genesis SPAR platform, in the Gulf of Mexico's Green Canyon Block 205.
Scheduled for early October of this year, the program will acquire High Density 3D (HD3D) data for a thorough 4D evaluation process by ChevronTexaco of its Genesis Field. PGS will employ its patented Continuous Long Offset (CLO) acquisition technology using the company's Ramform Viking and Falcon Explorer in a dual vessel, single source configuration, towing eight streamers. The program will mark the return of a PGS Ramform class vessel to the Gulf of Mexico for the first time since 1996.
