Bolivia Creates Energy Planning, Development Dept

Bolivia's hydrocarbons ministry has created a new department charged with designing new policies and planning energy activity in the country, government news agency ABI reported.

The energy planning and development department will be made up of two operating units: one for energy research and potential markets that will define prices; and the other for energy planning and integration.

Specifically, the department will coordinate with the E&P as well as the commercialization and industrialization departments.

Ministry general director of hydrocarbons Hortensia Jimenez is coordinating the appointment of the new department director.
