Pemex Submits Burgos Basin Exploration Request

Mexican state oil company Pemex's E&P unit Pemex Exploracion y Produccion (PEP) has submitted a hydrocarbons exploration request to energy ministry Sener for the Burgos exploratory reserves incorporation investment project.

PEP will carry out the Siberia-Relampago-Rodrigueno 2D surface seismic exploration study over a 15,975 sq km area in Tamaulipas, Coahuila and Nuevo Leon states, Mexico's official gazette reported.

The high-resolution seismic data will help PEP define underground structural and stratigraphic characteristics to confirm possible hydrocarbons-bearing traps, the report said.

Landowners in the area where Pemex plans to explore have 30 days to submit objections.
