Noble John Sandifer Suffers Damage from Hurricane Lili
|Wednesday, October 09, 2002
Noble Corporation reports that after surveying the Company's Gulf of Mexico fleet of 20 drilling units, only one unit, the Noble John Sandifer, sustained any significant damage as a result of Hurricane Lili. The unit, a 300-foot independent leg, cantilever jackup located in Eugene Island Block 305, sustained leg and hull damage. A preliminary assessment of the damage and the scope of necessary repair is ongoing. The Company expects to complete this preliminary assessment this week, although a final determination of the extent of the damage sustained by the unit will not be complete until the unit can be examined in the dry-dock. The Company expects to conduct such dry-docking at a Gulf of Mexico shipyard within the next 21 days.
