Ambar Lone Star Opens Tyler Onshore Facility



Ambar Lone Star Fluid Services has completed a new 21,800-square-foot distribution and operations complex in Tyler, TX.

Ambar Lone Star, with operations throughout the Gulf Coast, South Texas, East Texas and Permian/Mid-Continent regions, is a subsidiary of Patterson-UTI Energy, Inc. (NasdaqNM: PTEN), the second-largest onshore contract driller in North America.

Ambar Lone Star offers a complete line of drilling and completion fluids designed to meet the most demanding well conditions, including the patent-pending DFX high performance water base mud or Eco-Syn synthetic fluid for deepwater environments.

"Our new Ambar Lone Star facility in Tyler will expand and enhance both our technical and service capabilities for our Ark-La-Tx customers," said Ambar Lone Star Fluid Services President Ron Brazzel.

This new Ambar Lone Star Tyler complex consists of a 10,000-square foot warehouse and a 4,000-square foot warehouse for drilling/completion fluids material storage and a 7,800-square foot office facility, housing operations, distribution , sales and fluid testing laboratory.

The distribution yard has storage capabilities for 25,000 sacks of bulk barite material. The facility is situated on 4.5 acres adjacent to Patterson-UTI's East Texas facility. The warehouse will supply Ambar Lone Star's East Texas and North Louisiana customers.

"This new state of the art facility underscores Ambar Lone Star and Patterson's commitment to our Ark-La-Tx customers," said Steve Akin, East and South Texas Regional Manager.

The new Tyler facility is one of 24 stock points and seven sales and technical offices for Ambar Lone Star and replaces its Kilgore, TX, facility.
