Ocean Energy Shuts in Gulf of Mexico Production Due to Hurricane Lili
Ocean Energy Inc. has suspended all drilling activity and shut down production in the Gulf of Mexico due to deteriorating weather conditions from Hurricane Lili. All OEI personnel and associated contract employees have been evacuated.
The shutdown impacts production from 21 OEI-operated platforms in the Gulf as well as the company's new deepwater production in the East Breaks complex. Total production volumes, including non-operated production, affected by the closure are in excess of 60,000 net barrels of oil equivalent per day.
