BowLeven Re-spuds Offshore Cameroon Well
BowLeven plc said the D-1 exploration well, located in Block MLHP 5 offshore Cameroon, has had to be re-spudded due to mechanical and subsequent well control problems at the first location. The rig has been moved a short distance, and re-drilling of the well has now commenced. The total depth and objectives of the well remain unchanged.
The well will be drilled to a depth of approximately 10,000 feet, and total operational time is currently estimated at approximately 8 weeks.
BowLeven is in discussion with its insurers regarding the potential
recoverability of costs incurred on the first drilling location.
