3M Announces Specialist UK Oil and Gas Team
Diversified technology company 3M has created a core team for its Oil and Gas business in the UK.
For more than 50 years, 3M has been meeting the evolving needs of the global Oil and Gas industry and today supplies some 10,000 products that are used in virtually every aspect of the industry, from exploration, production and refining to transportation and retail.
To better serve customers' needs, a 'company within the company' has been created, designed to bring the wide range of 3M products for the Oil and Gas industry together under one roof.
Announcing the new team, Doug Mitchell, Managing Director of 3M United Kingdom plc said: "Every day, a wide range of 3M products and solutions are being used by the Oil and Gas industry but, until now, customers had to deal with several different departments and business units within 3M, from specialty materials to health and safety.
"The purpose of the new team is to make it easier for our customers to do business with 3M by providing a single point of contact. We will have a local team on the ground here in the UK, but they will have access to 3M's expertise, product portfolio and R&D and technical resources worldwide," said Mitchell.
The new team is headed by Dawn Ricketts, Business Development Manager, UK and Ireland. Dawn is supported by a team of highly experienced specialists, based in both Aberdeen and at 3M's UK head office in Bracknell, Berkshire.
Said Dawn: "3M wants to better understand the issues faced by the Oil and Gas industry. We already offer a range of extremely innovative products that address many of the challenges facing the industry today. For example, we have specialty materials and chemicals that enable the industry to go further into deep-sea, not only improving drilling and down-hole performance, but also addressing some of environmental issues facing the industry. The more we understand, the more able we are to focus on designing solutions rather than just selling standard 'off the shelf' products."
The core team:
