Statoil Awards Kvitebjorn Pipeline Contract

A contract valued at approximately NOK 140 million for the surface treatment of gas and oil pipelines for the Kvitebjorn field in the North Sea has been awarded by Statoil to Bredero Price Norway. The agreement covers coating the pipe with asphalt and concrete. The gas pipeline is 148 kilometers long, and the oil pipeline 90 kilometers. The work will be carried out at Bredero Price's plant in Leith, near Edinburgh between December 2002 and February 2003. The gas and oil lines are being manufactured in Italy and the UK respectively. First production form Kvitebjorn field is expected in October 2004.
