Tetra Technologies Expands Well Abandonment Business
Tetra Technologies, Inc. has acquired the assets and business of Kilgore, Texas-based Bee Line Well Service, Inc. for cash. Bee Line, which was founded in 1965, services onshore well abandonment markets in East Texas, North Louisiana, and Southern Arkansas. Bee Line is being incorporated into Tetra's Well Abandonment & Decommissioning (WA&D) Division.
Tetra's Chief Operating Officer Paul Coombs stated, "This acquisition has important geographical implications for our continued expansion in the well abandonment business. Having a presence in these active onshore markets is critical for Tetra and we're very happy to incorporate the Bee Line team into our onshore well abandonment business.
"Since entering the well abandonment business in 1994, Tetra has expanded the WA&D Division dramatically, both internally and through a number of key acquisitions. This division holds a significant share of the U.S. market and offers onshore, inland water, offshore and subsea well abandonment services as well as platform and pipeline decommissioning.
" Tetra is the most active WA&D service provider in the world and the only company to our knowledge that offers this full range of WA&D services to the oil and gas industry. It is a core business for us and we will continue to pursue opportunities that complement our long-term growth strategy," concluded Coombs.
