CGG Borehole Wins Contract from ExxonMobil
Esso Norway AS awarded CGG Borehole a three-year contract for the acquisition and processing of borehole seismic surveys for the Ringhorne platform and Jotun phase II on the Norwegian Continental Shelf.
The initial scope of work covers a range of borehole seismic surveys in up to 24 wells. Some of the wells planned will be highly deviated or horizontal, requiring CGG Borehole's PipeseisTM technique to record the VSP data.
CGG Borehole will also be using its recently developed Tasman navigation system, which delivers enhanced DGPS reliability and data quality control to minimize survey down time and maximize the quality control of VSP source positioning.
Data processing will be carried out at CGG Borehole's head office in Keston, UK. This follows the award of a similar three-year contract with ExxonMobil in Indonesia in October 2001.
