Fire in Oseberg Field Center Turbine Quickly Put Out

No one was injured when a fire broke out in a turbine on the Oseberg D platform shortly before 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

The fire was quickly put out by automatic fire extinguishing equipment at the turbine.

The crew of 310 onboard the platform were demobilized from lifeboat stations after about 50 minutes.

Production on the platform was shut down and the incident has been reported to the authorities, according to routine regulations.
