Premier Oil Awarded New Exploration License Offshore Indonesia
Premier Oil has been awarded the Natuna 'Tuna' Block offshore exploration license by the Indonesian Government. Premier will hold a 65% operated equity interest.
The Tuna Block is located adjacent and immediately to the south of Block 7&8/97 in Vietnam in which Premier holds a 45% operated interest, and to the southeast of Blocks 12E/12W in Vietnam where Premier has made the recent significant Dua and Blackbird discoveries.
Simon Lockett, Premier's Chief Executive, commented:
'Premier tracked the geology from its producing Anoa oil field across the Indonesia/Vietnam border into Block 12 last year and made significant oil discoveries. The Tuna Block is an exciting opportunity to leverage our deepening knowledge in this core area'
