Repsol YPF Meets with Government Officials from Rio Negro Province
Government officials from Argentina's Rio Negro province have met with representatives from Spanish oil major Repsol YPF (NYSE: REP) to discuss transferring information on current concessions to the province, the provincial government said in a statement.
All companies operating in the province must transfer information directly to the provincial government starting in March, in accordance with the country's new hydrocarbons law.
Repsol YPF and province officials also discussed a joint workday to reveal investments planned for 2007-08, the statement said.
The workday likely will take place in the first days of March. The provincial hydrocarbons department will coordinate with Repsol YPF this week to finalize a date, provincial hydrocarbons department director Tamara Perez Balda told BNamericas.
Perez Balda will travel to Buenos Aires on February 28 to hold similar meetings other companies operating in the province.
Provincial government representatives also will meet national energy secretary Daniel Cameron on the same day, Balda said.
