Ferguson Seacabs Enters Australasia

International offshore container specialists Ferguson Seacabs Ltd has arrived in the Australasian oil and gas market with the opening of a new Ferguson Group company, Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd, located in Perth, Western Australia.

The Aberdeen, UK-headquartered company has appointed a locally based General Manager, Carol Pearce, who has extensive knowledge of the offshore container market, having spent a number of years in the industry.

In addition to the Perth WA office, plans are also in place to open two strategically located operational bases in Dampier and Darwin from which to serve the Australian oil and gas industry.

Manufacturing of a complete range of units for the Australasian market is already underway, which will see Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd become the only dedicated provider of DNV 2.7-1 / BS EN 12079 certified specialist offshore equipment in Australia, offering a complete service including maintenance, testing, inspection and online asset tracking system for customers.

Ferguson Group Managing Director, Steven Ferguson said: "The Australasian oil and gas market is growing and is going to be a very important region for us. The investment in new products to specifically meet the requirements of this sector demonstrates our commitment to Australia.

"Over the past two years we have enjoyed an unprecedented period of growth across the group due to the buoyant marketplace, and have seen a continued increase in the internationalization of the business with many new major contracts secured, creating several new positions within the Group. Our response has been to invest heavily in developing and producing the very best products.

"Today we have over 8,000 containers available for hire from many locations around the world including Scotland, Norway, Denmark, Caspian, Africa, Trinidad, U.A.E and now Australia."

Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd will officially launch their line of products at the major Australasian Oil & Gas exhibition, AOG in Perth from 21st 23rd February.

The start up of Ferguson Seacabs Pty Ltd is not the only recent change within the Group. Ferguson Modular, formerly the offshore accommodation and workspace module division of Ferguson Seacabs Ltd, was incorporated on the 31st January this year as Ferguson Modular Ltd, giving the Ferguson Group four subsidiary companies two in the UK and one in both Norway and Australia.

Ferguson Seacabs Ltd, part of the Ferguson Group, have been serving the offshore container rental market for over 30 years having been established in 1976 and are now a major provider in the supply of specialist cargo transportation equipment.

The container divisions have a global fleet of 8,000 offshore containers, tanks and baskets.
